Great Article and informative. Thanks for sharing. I know its not really relavant, but I have been following your blog for some time and I had an amazing thing happen to me today. I got a speeding ticket two months ago and I gave it to the Traffic Ticket Team, www.trafficticketteam.com, who's main

Lawyer Jason A. Diamond did a speeding traffic ticket for me and he was amazing.
He got my ticket dismissed. I know you are thinking, who cares. But I was so freggin amazed, I feel like I need to tell the world to never pay a traffic ticket again. It's so empowering to have a way to tell the cops, you are not all that. Anyway, enough soap boxing, If you ever get a traffic ticket, call Jason Diamond (954) 967-9888 his office and staff were great.

Sincerely,
Doug Johnson

Traffic cops are probably the lowest forms of life left on the planet. Losers all, they should be embarrassed at what they do for a living. the problems that we have with crime in the U.S., this is the best that they can do. Think about your high school classes, so many of the guys did not continue to advance in their education or profession, so many became cops, they were searching for a job that will make them feel good about themselves, someone has to listen to me - I have a badge and gun! I can give you a ticket for some bullshit thing. They are quite the contribution to society. They do not have the intelligence or the balls to involve themselves in genuine police work.

I live in NJ, and what a scam they've got going there. I've driven 30 years without so much as a single violation or an accident. Now that the state is hurting for money, they've started traffic traps and will get you on trivial things.

I got nailed in June for "failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign"... even though I did stop. While they were writing my ticket, I watched them pull over EVERY SINGLE PERSON BEHIND ME! EVERY SINGLE PERSON GOT A TICKET whether they stopped at the stop sign or not.

I went to court to plead not guilty but was told I pretty much had no chance of winning so a prosecutor gave me a deal to take off the points on my license. I paid $500 bucks. The judge said to me with a wink, "Thanks for helping to balance the NJ budget!" He knew it was a total scam.

What I didn't know is that the points stay on your INSURANCE record.. and my insurance went up $300 a year for three years! I don't know what I'm going to do now that I got nailed again. It's total extortion. Somebody in the media ought to investigate and do a story.

i went to dps office to renew my lincense. turn out my lincense is revoked. i had unpaid tickets. just to make it worst did i mention i went on my birthday to renew my lincense - so i been driving with out lincense since. i called the court to figure out how much i was needed to pay - $953.00. i asked if, i can serve time in jail for the ticket that i owe. The judge said " no they don't have a location in spring valley, tx for people to serve" "either pay in full or payment plan". If i would have know sooner that i had this ticket i would have made a payment plan. But since they are holding my lincense i can't renew until i have paid in full. It's true if they dont want to take me in they can't?

I dont' know about the rest of the country, but in Nebraska traffic violation fine income is distributed to the school districts. That's right! Not one dime of your fine ends up lining the pockets of anyone but your children!!! It's in our state's constitution. So quit griping about how speeding tickets are just issued so the cops can get that new patrol car. Oh, and you can forget about that whole ticket quota notion. It's a lie!!!!! In the past, many departments did have a quota for their officers to meet, but those went by the wayside about 25 to 30 years ago. I don't know of a single department in this country that still uses ticket quotas.

States, counties, and municipalities are getting very desperate for cash due to the recession, and I have noticed speed traps have gotten a lot more aggressive over the past year. Law enforcement is coming up with some really sneaky ways to generate as many tickets as possible. I thought I'd seen it all until the other day when I saw an Audi convertible pulled over by an unmarked HONDA ODYSSEY MINIVAN! I'm sure this department writes tickets like gangbusters...I mean who expects a traffic cop to be running radar in an unmarked minivan.
