I THINK YOU ALL NEED TO LEARN HOW TO SPELL AND USE CORRECT GRAMMER BEFORE LEAVING COMMENTS! I'M NOT SURE ONE PERSON ON HERE HAS COMPLETLY CORRECT GAMMER, SPELLING OR PUNCTUATION!

No the driving age should not be changed. Do you really think that 18 year olds will be smarter drivers and be safer just because they're older? No. Most kids this age are out of the house and no parents are around to make sure they aren't being reckless or stupid.

doctors thought i was going to die cause i was looseing so much blood. driving is dangerious and most people dont get how dangerious it can really be.

I personally think this is stupid the driving age has always been 16 and shouldn't change cause of crashes adults crash to it just happens it doesn't matter who you are anything can happen but you getting in the car and driving is taking that chance but o well you might as well change drinking to 18 to why not you can buy lottery tickets, cigarettes,go to war i don't think it matters really smoking should be 16 really cause they do it anyways. Driving a car is fun and you don't have to wait for rides all the time and being in high school at 16 even 17 with sports and events your parents don't wanna drive you around forever this doesn't make just kids pissed off parents to...

The most common type of death among teens is car accidents. The chances of a sixteen-year-old driver being in a fatal car accident are five times greater than those of a twenty-year-old driver. Each year, there are 1.6 million car crashes involving teens.

Statistics from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety show that alcohol is a factor in nearly 1000 of the the 16- and 17-year-old drivers killed in 2004 car wrecks in the U.S.
since New Jersey rose its licensure age, it has had a 66% decrease in serious personal injuries among youth drivers. In fact a 16 year old driver has crash rates 10 times that of a 30-59 year old driver
In addition to teen crashes, this age group also has the highest rate of violation
Various studies have shown that the teenage brain is not as mature as the adult brain, and does not stop maturing until about 19, depending on the individual. All 50 states prohibit 16-year-olds from drinking alcohol, buying cigarettes, and purchasing handguns. Yet somehow most states are willing to put them in charge of a car, which could potentially be a deadly weapon. Between 1995 and 2004, there were 30,917 fatalities in accidents that involved 15-to-17-year-old drivers, according to a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. About a third of those deaths were the teen drivers themselves. The rest were pedestrians, passengers, and people in cars that teenage drivers struck.

Ok, guess I was wrong.
