Norm is correct. Drive in the right lane unless passing – no matter how many lanes the roadway has. In Germany, this is the rule of law and it is mostly violated on three lane Autobahnen by cars with English US military plates. Because passing on the right is also illegal, cars wishing to overtake must use two lanes instead of one. Also, if the passing car is traveling at a speed less than that of cars in the far left lane, these vehicles must slow causing congestion behind them.

thank you I really appeciated the brush up course. So far so good no moving vilations and I am 76 years old. As it says Common sense and always remember the quote unless it is safe to do so.

Eric in your maintain your lane article today. You would have drivers stay in the center or right lane.I am a 32 year o.t.r. retired semi driver with about 3 million miles safe driving. PLEASE remember on a 3lane road the center lane is my passing lane. as a 18 wheeler we cannot go into the 3′rd lane. this forces me to pass on the right and we know how dangerious this is Please drivers watch that mirror.
