I agree about the incorrect ruling regarding synthetic.
Synthetic means synthesized, which means assembled, and the definition implies artificiality.
Save synthetic label for group IV & V, (well we will see about group III+, GTL oils)

Since the US isn't Deutchland (where is the autobahn), you usually get away with not running a 40 weight oil in german cars. Use half 30, half 40 if that feels better.

How does Ford plan on getting away with six quarts of 5w-20 in their ecoboost?
Contrast that with the 5w-50 in the Shelby GT500.

Some columnist on here is an Audi R8 enthusiast it seems.

And you should be using oil from a place like ECS tuning, which stocks EURO ONLY oil (5w40 Pentosynth, Motul, Lubro Molly) [no ELF yet], which meets EURO specs of group IV FULL synth. None of this US group III garbage.

Don't always believe the owners manual. The ones for Audi were slightly wrong in the amount of quarts needed, and they were wrong about the brand and weight (probably not their fault due to inferior US oils which they don't use in Europe). They probably thought most US oil was FULL synth. Not hybrid. Group III doesn't deserve to be labeled synth. Just look up the marketing lawsuit against castrol.
