What percentage gas/diesel is used by the individual driver when considering all uses including military and transportation of merchandise?</description>

Very interesting. This also makes perfect sense. Americans aren&#039;t going to completely reorganize their lives simply because gas prices are higher, i.e. they&#039;re not going to move to new locations or switch jobs. Since mass transit hasn&#039;t stepped up, they have NO ALTERNATIVE but to keep driving their previous routes.

At the same time, some politicians are starting to push for lower speed limits, as another way to decrease gas consumption. Here are 2 recent examples:
