Alice your on to something. The car or motor vehicle is the last vestige of freedom from the searches and other invasive procedures that all other forms of transportation now consist of before you board a train, aircraft or even a bus. The government wants to know. It natural to assume that private vehicles will be under increasing attack by the government to bring it's occupants to the same level of scrutiny. The terrorists have accomplished their goal to bring the American people under a increasing authoritarian government(s), all knowing, all seeing. The new Real ID act is the latest in this attempt. Couple that with RFID tags and cops will be able to know who you are without you even knowing it. The Supreme Court no longer protects us against all sorts of invasive police conduct either. The driving public is under attack from all sides. And we continue to elect the clowns that seek to enslave us. We are always hearing on media programs how smart the American public is, how can this be? Bush was elected twice!! Don't blame me for either time.

I have to wonder if I will live even one day in a free country.

I am getting older while our country is getting more despotic.

Mandatory seat belt and helmet use is repugnant to anyone who has the slightest notion of individual self-ownership and self-responsibility, and the principles our country was founded on.

Those were only the beginning. I have heard talk in California of even banning radio in cars.

As a seasoned traveler, almost always by car and doing the driving, I want my freedom back!

Hello,
We have been adjusting our thinking as the gas prices climb higher

My husband's employer has created a company website to submit your name for carpooling. Zip codes are used to sort out likely candidates.

With the use of a secure site, this sounds like an excellent option for most everyone.

Could you address solution oriented thinking in one of your articles?
